Itinerary

SATURDAY, APRIL 11 - USA
Depart for Beijing

SUNDAY, APRIL 12 - BEIJING
Arrive Beijing and transfer to the Capital Hotel near Tiananmen Square.

MONDAY APRIL 13 - BEIJING
Your morning tour includes a visit to Tiananmen Square, the largest public square in the world, and the Forbidden City, home to 24 emperors. In the afternoon enjoy a tour of the Temple of Heaven. Tonight savour a Peking duck dinner. (BLD)

TUESDAY, APRIL 14 - BEIJING
Walk along the Great Wall, one of the wonders of the world, then stroll down the Sacred Way. In the evening enjoy a special performance of the Peking Opera. (BLD)

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 15 - BEIJING
This morning venture into the Hutong, the winding narrow streets and back alleys of old Beijing by pedicab. Then visit a Chinese family in their home. After lunch visit two Olympic venues, the Bird’s Nest and the Water Cube. (BLD)

THURSDAY, APRIL 16 - SUNDAY, APRIL 19 – YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE
Fly to Yichang and transfer to your outside cabin accommodations on the deluxe Century Star for an exciting four day journey on the Yangtze River. Visit the extraordinary dam project, travel through the spectacular Three Gorges and take a side trip to the newly opened areas of the Lesser Gorges. (BLD) MONDAY, APRIL 20 - XI’AN Disembark your ship and visit the Stilwell Museum and the Panda Center. After lunch fly to Xian. (BLD)

TUESDAY, APRIL 21 - XI’AN
Today view the spectacular Terra Cotta Warriors. Discovered in 1974, these 7,000 life-like figures were entombed with Emperor Qin Shi Huangdi in his massive subterranean funeral vault over 2,000 years ago. In the afternoon visit the Shaanxi Historical Museum. Finish the day with a special dumpling dinner and fabulous Tang Dynasty Show. (BLD)

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 22 - SHANGHAI
In the morning, fly to Shanghai. After lunch tour the famous Shanghai Bund and then visit the Children’s Palace.

THURSDAY, APRIL 23 - SHANGHAI
Your morning tour takes you to the fabulous Yu Yuan Gardens. In the afternoon explore the former concession areas and the narrow streets of Old Town. This evening see an unforgettable acrobatic performance. (BLD)

FRIDAY, APRIL 24 - SHANGHAI
Tour the Shanghai Museum renowned for its stunning collection of artifacts. Your afternoon is free for shopping, packing or further exploration of this fascinating cosmopolitan city. Reminisce with fellow travelers at this evening’s farewell dinner. (BLD)

SATURDAY, APRIL 25 - USA
