SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 27 - LISBON
Arrive Lisbon and transfer to the Tivoli Hotel. This afternoon’s tour includes a visit to St. George’s Castle with its magnificent view of the city and the Tagus River, the narrow streets and alleys of the Alfama and the Moorish Quarter; as well as the Jeronimos Monastery. (D)
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 28 - LISBON
Today tour Belem, the Gulbenkian Museum, the Ancient Art Museum, and Igreja de Sao Roque. Tonight delight in the haunting music of a fado. (BLD)
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 29 - LISBON
Enjoy a full-day tour through the picturesque villages of Estoril, Cascais and Sintra, a favorite summer residence of the Portuguese monarch. Visit the Sintra Palace and the Pena Palace. (B)
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 30 - BUCACO

Today’s program includes the university in Coimbra, Portugal’s oldest, and one of the Iberian Peninsula’s most important archaeological sites, Conimbriga. Return to BuÁaco for a special evening of wine tasting and dinner. (BLD)
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 2 - AVILA
Travel across the scenic Portuguese and Spanish countryside to Salamanca, a showpiece of the Spanish Renaissance. There tour the town and the Old and New Cathedral. Continue onto the walled city of Avila. (BL)

This morning journey to breathtaking Segovia, an important military town in Roman times. The city tour includes the Alcazar and the Cathedral. Enroute to Madrid stop at Valle de los Caidos, a massive monument to fascism’s victory over democracy. (BL)
