Transfer to the deluxe Metropol Hotel next to Red Square and the Kremlin.
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 13 - MOSCOW
View the priceless Russian art at the Tretyakov Art Gallery. After lunch, tour the famous sights of Moscow, including Red Square, St. Basil’s Cathedral and Moscow State University. (BL)
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 14 - MOSCOW
This morning descend into the famed Moscow Metro, where each station is a museum unto itself. Continue to Stalin’s secret bunker for an exclusive visit of the recently uncovered WWII relic. Then browse for Russian products at the famous Izmailova Flea Market, the largest in Russia. In the evening attend a spectacular folkdance performance. (BL)
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 15 - MOSCOW
Tour the Kremlin to see the Kremlin Armory Museum containing Faberge eggs, the royal crowns and regalia. Stroll the impressive Cathedral Square, the central square of the Kremlin bordered by three cathedrals. Enjoy an exclusive performance of young virtuoso musicians. (BL)
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16 - ST. PETERSBURG
Today visit the acclaimed Pushkin Fine Arts Museum. Spend some leisure time before boarding the late afternoon train to St. Petersburg. Upon arrival transfer to the Nevsky Palace Hotel. (BD)
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17 - ST. PETERSBURG
Explore this “Venice of the North” on a city tour. After lunch, view the exquisite collection of Scythian gold on your private visit of the Gold Room at the Hermitage Museum. (BL)
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 18 - ST. PETERSBURG
Today, tour the world famous Hermitage Museum with over 1000 rooms containing works of some of the greatest masters of art. In the evening, have dinner with a Russian family. (BD)
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 19 - ST. PETERSBURG
Take a hydrofoil on the Neva River to Peterhof, summer palace of Peter the Great. Spend the day exploring the beautiful palace and gardens often referred to as the “Russian Versailles”. In the evening attend a ballet performance at the Mariinsky (Kirov) Theater. (BL)
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 20 - ST. PETERSBURG
Visit Senate Square and magnificent St. Isaac’s Cathedral. Continue to Peter and Paul Fortress, with its cathedral and burial place for all tsars since Peter the Great, including Nicholas II and his family. Spend some leisure time exploring the city. (BL)
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 - ST. PETERSBURG
Visit the memorial to the 900-day World War II siege of Leningrad. Then tour Catherine’s Palace at Pushkin and Paul’s Palace at Pavlovsk, the most elegant of the summer palaces around St. Petersburg. Tonight enjoy a special farewell Russian dinner with music. (BD)
